Technology Fee
In the 2010-2011 school-year, HKIS commenced its 1:1 laptop program for Grades 5-12. This program involves the addition of a technology fee from students in grades 5 through to 12 once every three years. The technology fee covers the full cost of a Macbook Pro 2.4Ghz computer with 4GB of RAM and 250GB hard-drive, plus site-licensed software specifically selected to support the HKIS educational program. Information about the Laptop Distribution Session
Students will receive their laptops on the day they register for classes during one-hour training session. As the content of this session contains expectation for laptop use at HKIS, as well as procedures for service and support. A parent MUST accompany each student.
School Uniform and Dress Code
No school uniform is required in High School (Grades 9 – 12). PE uniform is required for High school students and can be purchased from the Dragon Shop.

Lunch Program
A catering company provides a balanced hot lunch program. Payment by cash and Octopus Card are accepted. In all cases, students are also welcome to bring their own lunch.

Parent Faculty Organization (PFO)
All parents of newly admitted students will be contacted by a Parent-2-Parent Mentor, who has been chosen based on your student's grade level needs to answer questions about HKIS and, if needed, living in Hong Kong. You will also be invited to the New Parent Coffee sponsored by Parent-2-Parent Mentor Program, a committee of our Parent Faculty Organization (PFO). The PFO will be contacting you directly to advise the date and venue. You won’t want to miss it!
