At Upper Primary School we offer a range of in-school and after-school activities.

     
 
After school activities are for one hour between 2:50 and 3:50 pm.  (Allowing Students to catch the 4:00 pm. bus), and are organized in three six-week sessions throughout the school year.

Activities include: floor hockey, cricket, chess, movie making, photography, games, hiking, swimming, basketball, indoor-soccer, cooking, arts and crafts.  In addition, Upper Primary also offers after school programs for strings, band, choir, and drama.

Students involved in band, choir and strings perform at the Christmas concert, spring concert, and provide music for special assemblies and programs during the school year.
 
Parents and community members sponsor a number of additional activities for the children.  These include: baseball, soccer, basketball, gymnastcs, ballet, drama and scouting.
 

The Community Activities Centre located in Tai Tam offers the following activities:

Community Sports Program
Coordinated programs incorporating volunteer parent coaches, with the motto “Building Good Athletes and Great People”.  The Community League is based on a competitive structure, however , it is not a competitive league.  Sports include: soccer, baseball, basketball, and touch & tag rugby.

Community Select Teams
These teams include Stingrays Swimming, HK Little League, Tai Tam Tigers Soccer, and Gym Danny.  Players go through a selection trials process.

Extracurricular Activities
These activities are coordinated by individual companies within HKIS, and regulated by the Community Activities Centre.  Activities include: dance, rock climbing, youth theater, roller hockey and others.

Upper Primary also has an active Student Council that promotes service projects.

Student Medical Insurance
Please note that HKIS expects all of its students to be enrolled in a health insurance plan.  HKIS does not provide medical coverage for students when accidents occur during school-related activities.

If your child is not covered by health insurance, please e-mail Joanna Wilson at  jwilson@hkis.edu.hk in the Business Office for an insurance company referral.
