HKIS benefit provisions currently include relocation expenses to Hong Kong. HKIS provides an initial airfare allowance at the beginning of an employee's service as well as their spouse's and each dependent that will reside in Hong Kong.

HKIS will provide shipping assistance to ship household goods, up to a set amount based on family size for faculty arriving from overseas.

HKIS provides a cash allowance to assist with the associated costs of setting up your new residence.

The HKIS housing program allows faculty flexibility and choice. New Faculty have two options to choose from:

1). Faculty may elect to receive a housing allowance to select their own apartment, and will upon arrival in Hong Kong be eligible to stay in a serviced apartment provided by the school for up to one month while selecting their new home, or

2). Faculty can elect to have HKIS source and lease their apartment in the school’s name for their first two year contract. Upon arrival in Hong Kong, hotel accommodation will be provided by the school for three nights, before faculty move into their new homes.

Under the HKIS second provider policy, if an employee receives airfare and /or shipping from their spouse’s employer they will not be eligible to receive the benefits from HKIS.
