Through the personal involvement of students, parents, alumni, and friends, individuals learn and live the value of contributing to society and the school’s mission of "dedicating our minds to inquiry, our hearts to compassion, and our lives to service and global understanding" comes alive.
When individuals become involved, giving and service become an example for our children and the next generation. As a model for parent and community involvement, numerous community members are involved in non-paid volunteer roles such as the HKIS Board of Managers, Board Committees, and parent advisory groups, Parent Faculty Organization (PFO), and the Booster Club. The arts, sports, cultural and classroom experience rely on the generosity and broad support of the greater HKIS community.
Our learning community also depends on the generous financial support from individuals and corporations. The community partnership provides additional resources to make HKIS a truly unique place. Gifts to the
support music programs, up-to-date science labs, sports programs, and world famous authors and speakers that lift our children’s educational experience from excellent to exceptional.
There are many opportunities for personal involvement at HKIS, but the most important step is getting involved. The natural place to begin is with your personal interests and passions. The natural result will be the satisfaction of knowing that you helped make our learning community a better place for those here today and those to come in the future.
