Orientation: New teachers start the year at HKIS with a week-long orientation on school-wide and divisional programs and initiatives. The orientation is held one week prior to the return of other HKIS teachers and typically begins the first week of August.
Salary: New teacher hires are compensated based on level of education and years of relevant teaching experience up to a maximum of seven years. The annual salary is based on approximately 192 working days per school year and is paid over a 12-month period. Teaching contracts are for two years.
Compensation for other employees depends on years of relevant experience and is determined by the HKIS Human Resources Office.
