In this The International Educator (TIE) piece, Upper Primary teacher Daniel Wickner calls on educators to examine our own identities and how they formed, especially those parts that come from dominant identity groups. Modeling this work with students will deepen our connection, help them grasp the complexities of identity, and show them how to understand, value, respect, and defend all identities—including their own.
