Taekwondo, an Olympic sport since the 2000 Sydney Games, is a Korean martial art characterized by fast, powerful kicks. The aim of the sport is to achieve control over both the body and the mind as well as to instil confidence, discipline and respect for others in the student. Through learning Taekwondo, students will not only gain better posture, co-ordination, strength, Taekwondo techniques and skills, but will also learn the importance of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit which together form the spirit of Taekwondo.
