AQHI & Weather Policy
In case of poor weather conditions on a Tigers practice or match day, please confirm the status for your particular age group as outlined below.
Tai Tam / Repulse Bay Practices
If a practice is canceled, a message will be posted on the website, and an email will also be sent by 2:00pm on practice day. If there is no message and no email, then practice will go on as scheduled. If the poor weather conditions come later in the day, either just before or during practice and once players are already at the field, we will again post messages and send emails to advise of cancellation and will hold all players under cover in the shed next to the field until they are collected. If cancellation occurs just prior to practice, you should instruct your children to congregate with the coaches in this area to await collection.
Decisions regarding match play will be made and communicated at the earliest possible time. As soon as the Head Coach has been advised that a match / tournament is canceled, a message will be posted on the website, Please understand that sometimes it will not be possible to make and communicate a decision until after such time that some players may have to depart for the field in order to arrive at the scheduled time. We would recommend that you call your team coach if you are in any doubt but note that if you are unable to confirm cancellation prior to your departure, then assume that the match will be played as scheduled and proceed to the field.
T3: Practices and matches will go ahead unless local weather conditions dictate otherwise. Under T3 warnings you should assume practices and games will go ahead and check the website for notices,
T8: All practices and matches are cancelled.
Amber Rainstorm: Practices and matches will go ahead unless local weather conditions dictate otherwise. Under Amber Rainstorm warnings you should assume practices and games will go ahead and check the website for notices (see previous page).

Air Pollution Action Management Plan - Tai Tam Campus
Any decision to cancel practices or games will be made by 2pm and communicated to the students and parents.
For Practices - we abide by the HKIS AQHI Policy for any cancellation due to air quality. The current policy is that practices will only be cancelled when the AQHI is 10+ at Eastern Station. However, at sign up, parents are offered an opt out at AQHI level 8.
For Inclement weather we follow the HKIS weather Policy and cancel in any conditions we feel are unsafe for the students. Please note practices may still take place in the rain, only if it is torrential rain or there is lightning in the area will we cancel.
When the Thunderstorm Warning is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory, we will not necessarily cancel practices or games. The MS Athletics office and / or their on-site nominated coaches will monitor weather conditions via the HK Observatory website and by examining local weather conditions. If more than 2 lightning strikes are visible from the venue itself, or the lightening locator on the observatory website show cloud-to-ground strikes within a 5 km radius, practices and games will be canceled and all persons must immediately leave the venue and seek safe shelter.
