Since we can't organize this fun community event this year, we ask you to keep the tradition alive by running your own 5K Turkey Trot with family and friends over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. You can run the official 5K race course in beautiful Tai Tam country part or your own favorite 5K route. Be sure to trot in your best turkey gear and send us your fowlest photos and race results to firstname.lastname@example.org so we can share them on our instagram. Don't be a turkey, get out and run!
Our newest tradition at HKIS, the Turkey Trot 5 km run, takes place in picturesque Tai Tam Country Park. This event was introduced in 2016 to encourage the whole HKIS community to come together during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The pleasant weather and bright blue skies provide perfect running conditions while the delicious oranges, compliments of the Booster Club, help runners replenish at the finish line. Come and strut your stuffing!
Whether you're fleet of foot or more of a happy stroller, this scenic 5km course meanders through the delightful Tai Tam Country Park. Starting just across the road from the Middle School entrance, the course heads through the park to the Tai Tam Intermediate reservoir. Then over the next half-mile you climb the 360ft hill to Tai Tam Upper Reservoir. Arriving at the top it's a quick loop around the small mount and the back down the hill to the start/finish line.
