Friday HKIS Volleyball Clinics

This Friday afternoon clinic will be offered in the spring of 2018.

Our Volleyball Clinics are open to all ability levels from beginners to more experienced players. No matter what your level of ability, our clinics will offer the same high level of coaching and will offer you every opportunity to succeed. Our clinics focus on good fundamental techniques such as passing, setting, attacking and serving while having fun. They offer the perfect introduction to those new to the game while, for the more experienced players, offer excellent preparation for next year’s HKIS Middle School, JV or Varsity teams

The clinics will be coached by the HKIS current Varsity Coaches Kelvin and Wing along with Coach Mingson. All three are from the Hong Kong Volleyball Association (VBAHK).

Coach Kelvin has been coaching for more than 10 years in schools in Hong Kong as well as teams playing in the Hong Kong league.

Coach Wing is a professional volleyball player who has been playing at the top level in the Hong Kong league for over 15 years. Wing has also been coaching for 10 years.

Coach Mingson specializes in coaching volleyball for beginners. She has been coaching at schools level for 3 years.

Sunday - All-Skills Volleyball Camp

This February the International Volleyball Academy Hong Kong is running a co-ed volleyball camp at Hong Kong International School. The camp is aimed toward 6th to 10th-grade players from all schools at the beginner or intermediate level. Players will be divided according to their skill levels. They will develop fundamental skills—such as passing, setting, hitting, and serving—in addition to teamwork and cooperation in game-like drills.

This camp will be run by Henry Chan and Roy Tsang, both of whom have over ten years of experience playing and coaching volleyball. Henry is the head coach at IVAHK; he has been providing open gyms and private lessons with us for the past year. Henry was a member of the Hong Kong National Team in 2013 and 2015, and he has also played for seven years at the South China Athletic Association (SCAA). Roy coaches the SCAA youth volleyball team and local schools in Hong Kong. He has U.S. collegiate volleyball experience at Santa Monica, California and also plays with Henry on the SCAA team. Both coaches are extremely passionate about training players in all aspects of the sport.

The camp will be held on Sundays from 11am to 1pm on the following dates:
