Be A New Parent Mentor
Share Your HKIS and Hong Kong Knowledge
Do you remember being new to Hong Kong and/or to HKIS? Did someone help you with your questions concerning HKIS and Hong Kong? Would you consider returning the favor for someone coming into Hong Kong or HKIS, now or in the near future.
Twice yearly (June and January), the PFO welcomes new families into the HKIS community and pairs them with an existing HKIS family, as a point of contact. Some families entering the school would like a mentor as an email point of contact for questions, while others are new to Hong Kong and may appreciate a coffee or lunch after they arrive.
In order to maintain the quality of our mentor program, the PFO is asking you to be an HKIS Parent-to-Parent Mentor for the 2017-2018 school year. You are welcome to sign up throughout the year, and when we get a request, we will match you with a new HKIS family. We are especially in need of Lower Primary parents and would love some mentors that speak any additional languages, ex: Mandarin, Japanese, or Cantonese. You are qualified to be a mentor even if you have only been an HKIS family for a short while, you know so much you can share with other new families!!
Exciting new changes to the mentor program are happening!! This is such a fabulous way to strengthen our community and make new friends along the way. Please join our committee of mentors by clicking here. We will contact you with more information once you sign in to our database.
If you are interested in becoming a member of our committee to help plan events and match families, please email us firstname.lastname@example.org, we would love to welcome you into our committee!
