The Advancement Office was established to provide the means to enhance the programs at HKIS. The funds raised by this department allows the school to invest in the future of the educational experience for our students. Over the years the team has grown to include our Marketing and Communications team who together build, develop, and maintain participation and relationships with the HKIS Community through alumni relations, school communications, public relations and community events.
Our Chief Advancement Officer, Ann Wardwell, joined the HKIS Community in August 2019. She has a broad range of experience in leading Advancement Teams through annual and capital campaigns, endowments, events and planned giving.
During her most recent tenure at Fay School in Massachusetts, Ann led fundraising efforts for a number of capital projects. Throughout her career, she has been involved in multiple capital campaigns and other fundraising initiatives.
A graduate of St. Louis University, Ann and her husband, Andrew, have two adult children, Sterling and Julia.
Ann fell in love with Hong Kong during her first trip in 2007 and is thrilled to now call this city her home.
The Annual Fund is a critical component of the HKIS annual operating budget, and your contribution helps fund every aspect of the school’s program. Support for the Annual Fund allow us to attract and cultivate the best teachers (competitive faculty salaries, professional development), maintain and enhance our campus (classrooms, arts facilities, athletic fields) and much more!
The Annual Fund Manager, Isabela Hollingshead, enjoys the opportunity to work closely with parent volunteers to communicate the importance of the Annual Fund. She also collaborates with the Advancement team to present special events, like the Annual Ball, for our community.

Our network is comprised of former students, administrators, faculty and staff. Our aim is to connect, engage and inspire. We believe our alumni are a testament of our school's success and legacy.
Our Alumni Relations Coordinator, Hillary Sandeen has been getting to know our alumni since 2017 and has helped plan many reunions, led campus tours, started an internship program and keeps our alumni connected with a monthly newsletter.

These publications not only provide our community with important information it also provides our external community insight on the amazing aspects of our school.
DragonTales is produced twice a year and started as a publication for alumni news. It has evolved into a community magazine celebrating the accomplishments of our faculty, students and alumni each semester and preserves the history of our school.
