Biography

Fiona Robertson

Fiona Robertson is a Curriculum Leader stepping into the role as Associate Principal in the High School at Hong Kong International School. She has previously worked as a Teaching and Learning Coach (Pre K-12) in Vietnam and South Africa, and is constantly inspired by her partnerships with teachers and leaders who want more - more for their students, more for themselves, and more for their profession.  Fiona believes there is power in sharing the challenges, changes, and celebrations that come with being a coach and has maintained connections with the worldwide coaching community through her blog www.thecuriouscoach.net, consulting and coaching podcasts.

When not geeking-out on all things assessment and concept-based learning, Fiona can be found hanging out with her two teens at soccer, hiking hills, or at impromptu karaoke nights.

MaryAnn Sayaz

MaryAnn Sayaz is currently a Professional Learning Coordinator and former instructional and literacy coach at Hong Kong International School. Prior to her work in Hong Kong, she served as a literacy coordinator and coach at Benjamin Franklin International School in Barcelona, where she helped build a cohesive elementary literacy program. Grounded in the study of current instructional practices, her work focuses on fostering integration, using literacy structures, as well as voice, choice, and inquiry into literacy classroom. She regularly collaborates with administrators, consultants, and teachers to integrate innovative and meaningful literacy practices into the curriculum.

In her spare time, she dabbles with writing. She started a group to bring other writers together for collaboration and inspiration. She brings her passion for reading and writing into the work she does with teachers and students.

Stephanie Moy

Stephanie is an Instructional Literacy and Social Studies Coach at HKIS. She believes in the cultivation of wholly literate people (thoughtful listeners, kind speakers, curious readers, and clear writers) in order to develop a more kind and knowledgeable society. Stephanie has taught pre-K to grade 5 as a special educator and homeroom teacher in the U.S., Guatemala, Qatar, China, and India. As a special educator, she became passionate about ensuring that all learners grow into joyful and skilled readers for life. Although she is a true nerd and loves to read about reading, she also enjoys narratives that include diverse voices.
