Welcome to the admissions page of HKIS. As a not-for-profit school, HKIS sustains its operations through tuition fees. These fees consist of the application fee, entry fees, annual tuition fee, annual capital levy, and optional debentures. Please note that fees are reviewed annually and subject to the Education Bureau’s approval.

All students participate in the school’s capital funding by paying an annual capital levy of HK$23,000 which is payable in two installments.
The capital levy helps to support financing for the upkeep and maintenance of school buildings as well as redevelopment projects, new acquisitions, and other major facilities improvements that enhance facilities and programs for the benefit of current and future students.
HKIS students participate in a Bring Your Own MacBook (BYOM) Program. All Grade 6 to 12 students are required to bring an Apple Macintosh laptop to school each day. The Apple Macintosh laptop must meet the following HKIS minimum laptop specifications:
- Apple M1 chip or faster
- macOS 13 (Ventura) or later
- 8 GB RAM memory
- 256 GB solid-state drive (SSD)
- In addition to the MacBook, you will also need a USB-C to USB adaptor from Apple
- Students will also require access to a personal Apple ID to keep software up to date.
Parents and Sponsors may participate by purchasing non-interest-bearing debentures. HKIS now issues three types of debentures:
- Family Debenture: HK$3 million
A family may use this debenture to support multiple children from the same immediate family. Click here for the policy and click here for the 2025-26 academic year application form. - Standard Corporate Debenture: HK$3 million
Corporations may use this debenture to support one child’s application. Click here for the policy and click here for the 2025-26 academic year application form. - Comprehensive Corporate Debenture: HK$5 million
Corporations may use this debenture to support multiple children from one family. Click here for the policy and click here for the 2025-26 academic year application form.
Debentures are NOT mandatory. In all cases, a debenture alone does not guarantee admission to HKIS, as children must meet HKIS’ admissions requirements.
Debentures retain their value and cannot be sold. Only the Family Debenture can be transferred, and only to the purchaser’s children or grandchildren. Holding a debenture places qualified applicants at the top of the wait pool.

- The above payment dates refer to the Reservation Deposit. The Reservation Deposit is equal to the Tuition Fee and Capital Levy. Please note that an additional once-only Entry Fee is also payable for new students.
- This Reservation Deposit is credited to the total annual tuition fee amount. Full payment of the Reservation Deposit on or before these payment due dates will reserve a place for an existing student.
- For new students, a Reservation Deposit is required at the time of acceptance. A reservation deposit is equal to the student's initial semester fees (including tuition, capital levy, and entry fee).
- Enrollment becomes final only after the school has received the full Reservation Deposit.
- The Reservation Deposit for new students is only refunded if the school receives written notification of a student’s cancellation within 10 calendar days after the payment due date or before the Semester commencement date, whichever is earlier. This deadline is strictly adhered to.
- Prorated deposits are not available.
- A late payment fee of 2% per month will be applied to all outstanding balances.
- Parents are responsible for timely payment of the Reservation Deposit, regardless of whether the deposit is paid by their employer or other third party.
- The Reservation Deposit paid each semester is not transferable to another student, sibling, or semester.
- This payment and refund policy is applicable only to the Reservation Deposit and not to other fees.
