INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS’ SPORTS FEDERATION OF HONG KONG (ISSFHK)
International Schools’ Sports Federation of Hong Kong (ISSFHK) was launched in February of 2006. In response to the interest expressed by several coaches and athletic directors from a number of international schools, who wanted to gather and explore the feasibility of creating an alternative league for interschool sports, the Canadian International School of Hong Kong hosted the inaugural meeting of what would become the ISSFHK. The group was motivated by a common desire to form an association that would assist schools with the myriad of scheduling difficulties international schools often face as a result of holiday breaks and experience weeks that do not match those of local schools in Hong Kong. They were also interested in developing an association that encouraged greater opportunity for athletes to become well rounded in a variety of sports by spreading activities out over three different seasons.
