Basketball Academy

The Southside Hawks Basketball Academy is an HKIS owned and operated tiered basketball program that was established in 2009 as an all-inclusive club open to anyone who wants to play basketball in grades 1-8 at HKIS. The program caters for beginners through to the more advanced players in our 3 inter-linked tiers (see below). For the players that want to maximize their potential and who are looking to test themselves in games, we will run assessments at the start of each year and then players will be placed in the tier that the coaches believe will best assist in their development. They will be continually assessed during the term by coaches and with their recommendation players can move between tiers from term-to-term depending on their progress.

HKIS Basketball Academy works in partnership with the external academy Impact Basketball Academy. Impact partners with us to provide high level coaches within our Academy program and in addition, through Camps, Skills sessions and private classes, provide extra opportunities for all students in G1-12 at HKIS to further improve their basketball skills.
