Speakers
Fiona Robertson
Fiona is a Curriculum Leader at Hong Kong International School. She has previously worked as a Teaching and Learning Coach (Pre K-12) in Vietnam and South Africa, and is constantly inspired by her partnerships with teachers and leaders who want more - more for their students, more for themselves, and more for their profession. Fiona believes there is power in sharing the challenges, changes, and celebrations that come with being a coach and has maintained connections with the worldwide coaching community through her blog www.thecuriouscoach.net, consulting and coaching podcasts.
When not geeking-out on all things assessment and concept-based learning, Fiona can be found hanging out with her two teens at soccer, hiking hills, or at impromptu karaoke nights.
MaryAnn Sayaz
MaryAnn is currently an instructional/literacy coach at Hong Kong International School. Prior to her work in Hong Kong, she also worked as a literacy coordinator/coach at Benjamin Franklin International School in Barcelona to build a cohesive elementary literacy program. Through the study of current practices, her focus is on building voice, choice, and inquiry within the workshop. She collaborates often with administrators, consultants, and teachers in bringing integration and innovative literacy ideas into the curriculum.
In her spare time, she dabbles with writing. She started a writing group to bring other writers together get feedback. She brings her passion for reading and writing into the work she does with teachers and students.
